BEHIND THE SCENES: THE LIFE OF AN UNDISCOVERED SCREENWRITER

When people think of a screenwriter, they often imagine someone walking a Hollywood backlot, attending premieres, or sitting in a writer's room surrounded by producers and directors.

The reality for most independent screenwriters couldn't be more different. Most mornings begin with a cup of coffee, a computer, and a dream that still hasn't found its audience. There are no assistants, no production office, and no guarantees. One day I'm rewriting dialogue. The next, I'm updating a website, designing promotional materials, answering emails, submitting to screenplay competitions, researching production companies, or learning how to market a brand I created from scratch.

Being an undiscovered screenwriter means wearing every hat imaginable.

You're the writer, producer, marketer, publicist, social media manager, web designer, merchandise coordinator, fundraiser, cheerleader, and sometimes even your own biggest critic.

Most people only see the finished screenplay. They don't see the thousands of hours spent researching, rewriting, questioning yourself, and wondering if anyone will ever read the story that has consumed your life.

There are days filled with excitement when another screenplay competition recognizes your work or someone reaches out to say your story touched them. There are also quiet days and days when the inbox is empty.

Days when another submission receives no response.

Days when you question whether anyone is listening.

Yet somehow you get up the next morning and do it all again.

Why? Because stories matter.

The right story can preserve a disappearing way of life, inspire someone to chase a dream, or remind us that resilience still exists in a world that often seems to have forgotten it.

For me, Freedom has become much more than a screenplay. It's a television series, a feature film, a companion docudrama, books, a growing online community, and a vision rooted in the authentic spirit of the American West.

Every step forward is earned, every small victory matters, every person who shares a post, reads a book, watches a Proof of Concept, or offers words of encouragement becomes part of the journey.

People often ask me where I find the determination to keep going.

The answer is simple. I believe in the story.

Until the cameras roll, I'll keep writing, building and believing.

Dreams don't come with deadlines. They come with determination, and around here... there's No Quit.
