Throwback to the Dust, Chutes, and The Man Who Never Backed Down.

The real cowboy way.

The photo takes me straight back to a Freedom bull ride… Rowdy in his element, managing the show, watching every gate, every rider, every bull like a hawk. What most folks don’t see in moments like this is the years of work behind it.

Training a bucking bull isn’t about “making” one mean. It’s about developing natural athletic instinct. You start young, teaching them to load calmly, stand in the chute without blowing up, break clean, buck hard, and most importantly… turn and find their way back to the pens without chaos. A great bull isn’t just explosive, he’s smart, conditioned, and consistent.

Rowdy believed in raising bulls the right way. Feed programs. Conditioning. Hauling them so they got used to the lights and noise. Working them enough to build stamina, but not so much that you broke their spirit. It takes patience to develop an athlete that can perform for eight seconds at a professional level.

And grit? It took plenty of that.

Grit to invest in genetics.

Grit to weather injuries and losses.

Grit to keep hauling when diesel prices climbed.

Grit to stand in the dust week after week until your stock was respected.

When our bulls were accepted at professional events, including PBR and PRCA rodeos, that wasn’t luck. That was years of sweat, risk, and belief paying off.

The crowd saw an eight second ride.

We lived it 365 days a year.
