Long before the first bull leaves the chute, stock contractors, ranch families, pickup men, bullfighters, veterinarians, announcers, judges, rodeo secretaries, arena crews, and countless volunteers have already put in hours, sometimes days, of work to make the event possible.

The bulls themselves aren't simply "performance animals." They're valuable athletes, carefully bred, conditioned, transported, and cared for year-round. Their health and well-being are the foundation of the sport.

As a former PBR stock contractor, I had the privilege of seeing bull riding from both sides of the fence. The dust, the early mornings, the late nights, the friendships, the setbacks, and the unwavering commitment to preserving a Western way of life.

The real story of bull riding isn't just about courage in the arena. It's about the people behind the scenes whose passion keeps the gates opening, generation after generation.

That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about bringing Freedom to television. I want audiences to experience not only the excitement of the ride, but also the authentic lives, sacrifices, and heart of the people who make the Western lifestyle possible.
